Wednesday 6/16: Kingman, Arizona to Pomona, California... We made it!

Our plan for the day was to get up early, shoot across the desert before the midday sun heated things up too much, and arrive at the focal point of our journey; the Fairplex in Pomona, California (site of the annual L.A. Roadster Show).

The first leg of our daily trip was from Kingman to Ludlow, CA in the Mojave desert.

Here are some shots as we made our way to Ludlow

Our stop in Ludlow... The Ludlow Cafe/Gas Station was a great place to stop for gas and have a Blizzard in the Desert! There was a Dairy Queen attached to the Gas Station.

After filling up our gas tanks and stomaches, we hit the road for the last leg of the trip into Pomona. Here are some shots from that trek

Finally, in front of the Sheraton Hotel at the Pomona Fairplex... we made it!

We left with ~ 130 miles on the odometer...

Cleaning up the cars...

And catching up with some of our buddies from Detroit; John and Paul

The remainder of the day was spent settling into our hotel in Pomona, enjoying beer and conversations with other Hot Rodders and catching up on some much needed rest. Although the actual L.A. Roadster Show is held on Saturday and Sunday, many Rodders show up early in the week to hang out and enjoy time in Hot Rodding's Mecca.

Our Thursday would be packed with a whirlwind tour of some of the most famous Hot Rod shops in Southern California... stay tuned for more!
